Counting Sheep...Five so Far

We continued working on our sheep today.  Yesterday we glued "soft" cotton balls to a body shape and today we added legs that we cut all by ourselves, and faces we assembled.  Some of us are done, some of us are still working on them.  Check out the awesome farm we've created!  We also loved, loved, loved scooping, pouring, and hiding things in the science center.

Hay, Seeds, Fun, Fairies, and Pigs!

We've had some wonderfully busy days!  Last week we added hay to our barn and seeds to our silo.  We're ready for the animals to start joining the fun!!  Be on the look out for critters showing up in the coming weeks!  We've had a great time in our centers working with food, dishes, and other small manipulatives.  And, check it out!  The fairies visited our classroom again!  The morning we created a big barn with blocks for our plastic animals.  We also began creating pink pigs.  Oink!

Barn Door, Bears, Buttons, and a Dog

Our barn and silo got even more awesome today!  We cut little squares of white paper and glued them on the red barn and silo to create doors and windows.  We had fun in the home center with a dog that visited.  It was very hungry and wagged its tail a lot!  We also worked with bears and buttons.  We counted them, matched colors and size with them, and even pretended the bears were riding on top of the buttons.  So much fun!

Barn Raising!

Boy, howdy, we've had ourselves a barn raising!  We painted our barn shape red yesterday and today we glued rectangular shingles (check out that shape of the month!) to the roof!  While we were at it we built a silo, too!  We also had a great time this morning with our new magnetic writing/drawing tablets.  So much fun!  Watch for lots of farm action in the next few weeks!

Spring is in the Air!!!

We've wrapped up our fire fighter unit...what fun it has been!  Here's one last photo full of awesomeness to end it with.

We've begun working on our new unit.  Spring is in the air!  Be sure to check out our classroom tree for changes!  Rectangles and the color black are everywhere we look!  They are ALL over the Zilker campus.  We've decorated black rectangles to make lovely collages and we've created amazing trains out of rectangles, circles and triangles.  Check out our hallway bulletin board!  Our home center has be a setting for birthday parties, fabulous lunches, and even a train!  We are having so much fun learning!!!
