Fine Motor Fun, Letter "J", Puzzles, Witches, and More!

Here's what we've been up to this week!

Just for fun, I put out a lot of farm activities for morning fine motor work.
Here we are scooping food for animals.

Working hard on a farm puzzle.

Setting up the farm!

Go Puzzle Team...one puzzle down, one to go!

Number two done!

Painting the letter "J".

Our song this week has been about a witch named "Rose".
It's danced to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot".
We each created a Rose Witch of our own!

On this day, just for fun, I put out a lot of "people"
activities for morning fine motor work.
We matched the people to the cards.

We put together a "People" puzzle.
These are all Community Helpers!

Spooky PPCD!

What a wonderful...and spooky...week we've had!

Yes, we did complete another puzzle!
Go Puzzle Masters!

We painted bats.

We created small versions of "Five Little Pumpkins".
We decided where each piece would go.

We created mummies!

After asking for each item we needed, we glued
tissue paper and eyes to make awesome mummies.

Yup, you got it, another puzzle!

Here are our spooky mummies!!

After requesting all of our supplies, we created spooky ghosts.
We glued eyes and cotton balls onto a ghostly shape.
The cotton balls were soft.  The glue was sticky.

We looked at the model so we'd know what to do.

BOO!!!!

Painting, Digging, Cutting and More!

Here's what we've been up to so far this week.

We wrapped up our letter P activity from last week by adding
a beak, eyes, and legs to our peacocks.

We worked with magnets during morning centers.
We love how they stick together (attract) and sometimes work
really hard to be apart (repel).

We started working on our new letter of the week, "J".
We painted craft sticks orange.  Keep reading to find out why!

It was super fun and messy!

We worked on our fine motor skills by picking up plastic fruit with tongs.
We made fruit salad!

We put a dinosaur puzzle together.

We used sticks to dig outside in the dirt with our Pre-K friends.

We found dinosaur bones!

We found treasure!

We created jack-o-lanterns (a great letter "J" word) by adding features
to the sticks we painted orange.  We cut out triangles.
We drew and cut out a very scary mouth.
We drew and cut out a leaf for the top.  They're awesome!!

Pumpkins, Sorting, and More!

We've had so much fun learning this week!

We read the book, "Five Little Pumpkins".
We created art about that story.  We had fun counting!

We worked with bug counters.

We put this puzzle together!  Yay for teamwork!

We painted white ghosts, cut them out, and glued on some googly eyes.  Boo!

We've had the best time sorting dinosaurs by type and color!

We ALL love it!

Be sure to check out our spooky classroom door!
We're just getting started, so watch for more additions next week!

Jamming Out, Little Puzzles, Jack-o-Lanters, and More!

We had a great week!

We always love a jam session!

We continued working with puzzles.  This time small ones!

We painted the letter "P" and practiced the sound it makes.

We added faces to our pumpkins to make jack-o-lanters.
We chose where to glue triangles to make eyes and a nose.
Then we drew a "scary" mouth, cut it out, and glued it at the bottom.
"Boo!!!"

Here we are painting "P" again.

We build amazing things!

"P"...gotta love it!

Uh-oh...CRASH!

We worked with plastic insects.  We sorted them by color.
We created patterns.  So much fun!

Letter "P", Orange, and More!!!

Here's what we've been up to so far this week.

We played with puppets.  Two great letter "P" words!

We created art out of squares, our shape of the month.

We made penguins out of the letter "P".

We glued letter "P" objects on to our letter "P" paper.
We cut out that penny!

We laced string through farm animal pieces.

It was really fun!

We've worked with puzzles every day this week!!
We LOVE puzzles!!

We built structures out of blocks, put people in cars and buses,
and drove all around.  When we were done we parked them on the shelf.

We had a great time scooping and pouring beans.
We had fun naming, sorting, and matching dinosaurs.
Thankfully, one of us is a dinosaur expert!  (And I don't mean me.)

We discovered that yellow+red=orange!!!
That's our color of the month!

We used our hands to make our pumpkins orange.

Please be sure to notice letter "P" objects in your environment with your kiddos.
Look out for squares, too!!!
